About the Opportunity

We offer a unique opportunity to become a Bitcoin Core contributor, one of the most prestigious positions in open source. This is an 18-month program designed to provide you with the financial stability, mentorship, and structure needed to build your contributor track record. You will work with Librería de Satoshi, dedicating the majority of your time to Bitcoin Core contributions (70%).

Location

Buenos Aires, Argentina (3 days per week in-office attendance required)

Main Responsibilities

  • Bitcoin Core Contributions (70%): Make significant contributions to the Bitcoin Core repository, participate in PR reviews and testing, and engage with the developer community on GitHub and IRC.
  • B4OS & Librería Support (20%): Help develop Bitcoin education content and mentor students.
  • Professional Development (10%): Attend conferences and workshops.


Essential Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Strong C++ proficiency (comfortable reading and writing modern C++).
  • Experience in systems programming (memory, concurrency, networking).
  • Proficiency in Git (rebasing, cherry-picking).
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.

Bitcoin Knowledge

  • Genuine interest and understanding of Bitcoin fundamentals (UTXOs, transactions, blocks, nodes).
  • Must have at least compiled and run Bitcoin Core from source.

Communication:

  • Excellent written communication in English (required).
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is desirable.
